I love backlinks…I really do.
I love traffic from those backlinks…I really do.
But there's one thing I don't like from all that traffic…and that's people who try to post useless comments for the sake of a backlink.
*cue rant*
Commenting on blogs is important. It shows search engines that your blog is alive and kicking; people are interacting and showing interest in what you have to say. Moreover, you increase your visibility in the search engine results because of that.
I know I know…"Kevin you say get tons of backlinks so I can move up the rankings!" True, but let me take you to the intermediate level and tell you that adding value is vitally important to letting those blog comments pass moderation as well as stick for a long time.
I can't tell you how many times someone has attempted to come to my network marketing blog and post a nonsense comment. It added ZERO value to my post and they thought they could get away with that. Many autoblog owners will do that and try to hijack your traffic and link juice, but it's time to throw down the hammer.

Hi Kevin,
Great site you have here. Tons of value. I hear you about the lame comments some "marketers" leave. I generally will spam a comment if the back link goes back to a capture page too (or I'll remove the link before approving). Keep up the terrific work!

Hey Steve thanks for dropping by and for sharing the kind words. It’s great to hear how other marketers feel about this issue. I see you’re doing some great stuff Steve, keep up the great work!

Hey Kevin, I love this post. I can't tell you the amount of people I get to my blog and have completely generic comments like your talking about. Some my favorites are the ones I get where they actually write a few sentences and it seems to relate. But then I notice that they leave that same comment on about 5 different posts of mine, LOL. Keep up the good work Kevin. By the way, I'm following and auto-syndicating you in tribepro. – Scott Zlateff

That's interesting! I touched on this very point on my latest video today.
I understand Kevin. I've seen it. I've seen exactly what you mean about those comments. Thumbs Up for speaking about this issue.

Hey Vince thanks for sharing. It’s so essential to show spammers their tactics aren’t going to work and corrupt the integrity of our blogs.
